Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks offense did not get off to a very good start during the first quarter of their NFC Wild Card Round playoff matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, with Wilson putting up some ugly numbers:

I'm not sure I have ever seen a quarterback with negative-8 passing yards before, especially one as elite as Wilson, which is a testament to how well the Cowboys' defense has been playing.

Dallas went into the game with the seventh-ranked defense in the league, but interestingly enough, it was just 13th against the pass this season.

Wilson enjoyed one of the best regular seasons of his career this year, throwing for 3,448 yards, 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 110.9.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin and North Carolina State University, was originally selected by the Seahawks in the third round (75th pick overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

It didn't take Wilson long to start making an impact, as he made the Pro Bowl during his rookie campaign after finishing with 3,118 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 picks, completing 64.1 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 100.

Wilson then led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in his second and third seasons, including a Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos in the latter year.

Wilson has made four Pro Bowls in his career.

Seattle won 10 games this season, earning the first Wild Card spot in the NFC.
