Fantasy football managers have been patiently waiting for Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson to return. Every week, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll leaves the media thinking it is getting closer. Until Wednesday.

Prior to Wednesday's practice, Carroll spoke to the media and addressed Carson's injury.

Carroll said that Carson will not practice Wednesday. He went on to say that Carson has not made the progress the team had hoped for and that he will not play in Week 11.

This is a blow to fantasy managers who were expecting him back this week. But it also is providing food for thought on rest of season value for Carson.

With the Seahawks season quickly going down the drain, and Carson's injury not progressing the way the team had hoped, they very well could shut him down and place him on season-ending IR.

That would be a shame, as fantasy football managers have been holding onto his spot all year. Each week, Pete Carroll has been talking up Carson's progress and it was thought that his return was imminent. The season is practically on the line this week. Seattle hosts the division leading Arizona Cardinals. The weakness for Arizona defensively is their front seven.

With Carson ruled out for this week, look for Alex Collins to once again lead the team in carries with Travis Homer, Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas to spell him on passing downs.

If you find yourself desperate for a replacement for Carson, D'Onta Foreman appears to be the lead back in Tennessee and was still widely available prior to waivers clearing Tuesday night. If he is still a free agent, he is worth a pick up with low RB2 upside.
