It is no secret that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is on his way out of town this offseason. There are a number of teams expected to bid for Brown's services. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Seahawks will look to pursue a trade:

The Steelers expect a robust market to form, and expect to hear from teams like the Seahawks.

This is certainly an interesting development for Seattle. They had ushered in a bit of a youth movement last offseason when they rid themselves of nearly all their veteran talent. Acquiring a wideout that turns 31 this summer would seem contradictory to their recent personnel moves.

However, if the 2018 NFL season proved anything for the Seahawks, it's that they are still ready to compete in the playoffs. They surpassed expectations after making the postseason in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Perhaps they are looking to build on that momentum moving forward.

Brown would certainly be a welcome addition to the Seahawks offense. Although they were the best running team in the league, Seattle's shortage of weapons on the outside became clear during their loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round. Bringing in arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL would solve those problems immediately.

Of course, fetching Brown will come with a steep price tag. For example, the Cowboys gave up a first-rounder for Amari Cooper during the 2018 campaign. The Seahawks will need to sweeten the pot in order to outbid the other teams in pursuit of Brown this offseason.
