The Seattle Seahawks have much more clear picture of their roster needs following the 2019 NFL Draft. It appears they will now be looking to seal the edge on defense by potentially bringing in defensive end Ezekiel Ansah and outside linebacker Nick Perry.

The Seahawks went into the draft with a dire need for a legitimate pass rusher. According to NFL Draft analyst Chad Forbes, they are hoping to seal the edge through free agency:

Told Seahawks recognize edge rusher a major need they didn’t address via draft. Expected to pursue FAs Ezekiel ‘Ziggy’ Ansah & Nick Perry who both remain available in Free Agency..

The Seahawks parted ways with defensive end Frank Clark in exchange for a 2019 first-round pick and 2020 second-round pick. Despite the promising return, Seattle is now without their only viable pass rusher from the 2018 NFL season. Fortunately, Clark's departure has helped free up plenty of cap space for them to work with moving forward.

Perry is coming off a bit of a down year after finishing the 2018 campaign with 24 tackles, three pass deflections, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in nine games. Despite his stellar outing in 2017, the veteran has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. Signing him could pose obvious risks for their health down the line.

Meanwhile, Ansah is one of the more notable free agents still left on the market. He is also coming off an injury-plagued year after recording just 11 tackles and four sacks in seven games last season. Regardless, both Ansah and Perry would be a welcome addition to a defense that is desperate for more stability on the edge.
