Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf played the entire 2021 season with a nagging foot injury that was kept under wraps by both the star wideout and the franchise. Back in February, Metcalf had surgery to remove a screw from his foot and was in a walking boot, with nothing to suggest that he wouldn't be ready for the 2022 season. Following the NFL Draft, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll spoke about Metcalf's health and provided a very encouraging update, as reported by Seahawks Wire of USA Today.

Metcalf is now out of his walking boot and on the mend. “Yeah, he is and he has started his running as well,” Carroll told reporters on Saturday after the draft.

Per Carroll, Metcalf is out of his walking boot and has started running. With about two months to go until NFL training camps open, this is a great sign for the Seahawks.

Metcalf, 24, was very productive for someone who was managing a minor foot injury, as he tallied 75 receptions for 967 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns. Of course, replicating such production could prove to be difficult with star quarterback Russell Wilson now in Denver and Drew Lock projected to be the starter.

However, a healthy Metcalf could be a force to be reckoned with no matter who is slinging him passes in 2022.
