The Seattle Seahawks are known for making trades during the NFL Draft. As a matter of fact, in the nine years that Pete Carroll has been head coach, the Seahawks have made a whopping 23 trades involving draft picks.

We obviously should not doubt their process, as there is a reason why the Seahawks have been one of the stronger teams in the NFC for the better part of the last decade.

And you know what? Seattle general manager John Schneider says that swinging trades during the draft is enjoyable:

“It’s a challenge, but it’s exciting,” said Schneider, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune. “It’s what we do. Our guys do a great job on draft of working our relationships around the league and then we’re trying to navigate where we’re going throughout the draft and targeting players and moving along. “We don’t necessarily have to go [trade] down all the time. But it’s kind of fun.”

So, what are the chances of the Seahawks trading down in the draft next week? They seem pretty high. When asked if the chances of Seattle coming out of this draft with only four players were remote, Schneider had this to say:

“I hope it’s slim, yeah,” he said.

Of course, the Seahawks can also add some draft picks to their stable by trading star defensive end Frank Clark, with whom the team is currently embroiled in a contract dispute.

Clark is surely drawing plenty of interest around the league, with the New York Jets being cited as a potential landing spot in recent days.
