The Seattle Seahawks' receiving corp is pretty banged up at the moment, but it sounds like they might be getting some good news in regard to D.K. Metcalf.

Metcalf underwent knee surgery last week, but it was deemed minor at the time. Speaking to the media Tuesday, head coach Pete Carroll said Metcalf is “moving around this week,” and that the team hasn't ruled him out for Week 1 yet, per John Boyle of the team's official site.

Metcalf only underwent a scope, so it was never going to sideline him for too long, but this still seems like a pretty fast recovery. Carroll is often overly optimistic with injury prognosis', so it's important to take his words with a grain of salt.

The Seahawks need Metcalf to get healthy as soon as possible because their receiving group is in shambles. Doug Baldwin was forced to retire after the season, which already had them pretty thin.

Then Metcalf started getting hampered by injuries, and projected number three receiver David Moore is going to miss significant regular-season time.

Metcalf blew up the combine back in February, and many analysts had the Ole Miss product projected as an early first-round pick after his performance. He began tumbling in the days leading up to the draft though and ended up falling to the Seahawks in the second round.

Metcalf first dealt with an oblique injury earlier in camp, and the knee injury followed right after. When healthy, he's expected to start opposite Tyler Lockett.
