The Seattle Seahawks lost their game on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals but even more importantly they lost a bunch of key players to injury. After the game Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that both running backs Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise were both out for the seasons.

Left tackle Duane Brown also needs knee surgery but there is a chance he could return sometime during the playoffs, depending on how deep the Seahawks go. Right tackle Germain Ifedi said all the injuries are a kick in the gut to the team because it hurts the team and these are players who have worked so hard to make the playoffs.

“It’s another kick to the gut, you know,” right tackle Germain Ifedi said, via Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. “Knowing Chris and coming up with C.J. through this thing the past four years, just what they’ve battled through and the type of men they are, it breaks your heart. It really breaks your heart to see them go down.”

Carson is no doubt the toughest injury to deal with for the team. On the season Carson had rushed for 1.230 yards and seven touchdowns before having his season ended.

“He’s everything this program is all about. He’s everything that we stand for,” Ifedi said. “He’s a man I always look to in tough times when things aren’t going great. He’s always standing tall through the storm.

Without Carson and Prosise it looks to be Travis Homer who is the lead running game. Against the Cardinals, he rushed five times for 32 yards. Even if the team is happy with Homer they are going to need to add a guy or two to the backfield just for depth.
