The Seattle Seahawks are interested in bringing back defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin for the 2019 NFL season.

Rubin has not played in over a year after suffering a torn biceps for the Oakland Raiders in August 2018. He played for the Seahawks from 2015-2017, amassing 75 tackles, three sacks, and three forced fumbles.

The 32-year-old defensive tackle has been in the NFL for over 10 years with the Seahawks, Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, and Denver Broncos.

Playing his first seven seasons with the Browns, Rubin tallied 338 tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles, always being a solid plug in the middle of the defensive line.

Seattle is going through a big change on the defensive line, trading defensive end Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs for a first round pick. The team selected TCU defensive end L.J. Collier with the 29th pick.

Seattle re-signed defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson and signed defensive ends Cassius Marsh and Nate Orchard.

The Seahawks finished last season with 10-6 record and second in the NFC West. The team lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Quarterback Russell Wilson received a huge contract extension and linebacker Bobby Wagner is next up to get paid.

Bringing back Rubin will be a step for the Seahawks to improve a defense that surprised many in 2018.
