It goes without saying that the Seattle Seahawks have undergone a major overhaul to their roster this offseason. Fortunately, they have also managed to keep some familiar faces around for the time being.

Seattle announced a bevy of moves on Friday to help shore up some depth on the roster. According to John Boyle of the team's website, both running back J.D. McKissic and defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson have signed exclusive rights free agent tenders with the Seahawks which confirms they will be with the team for the 2018 NFL season:

“Additionally, two players, running back J.D. McKissic and defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson, signed their exclusive rights free agent tenders this week, meaning they’ll be back with Seattle in 2018.”

McKissic signed with the Atlanta Falcons after going undrafted prior to the 2016 NFL season. He was waived during his rookie season and was picked up by the Seahawks soon thereafter. He has since made his bones in Seattle both on offense and special teams last season.

The former Arkansas State product registered 187 yards and a touchdown on 46 carries. However, he made his biggest impact through the air after hauling in 34 receptions for 266 yards and two touchdowns. The Seahawks have been without a solid backfield ever since the departure of Marshawn Lynch.

Although McKissic hardly helps fill the void, he is poised to etch out a solid workload thanks to his versatile skill set. Among the others looking for a larger role in the backfield will be Mike Davis, Chris Carson, and CJ Prosise.
