With the Seattle Seahawks hurting badly in the backfield, the postseason-bound NFC West club worked out former Denver Broncos running back CJ Anderson on Monday, per ESPN's Field Yates. That meant a second notable name visited the Seahawks on Monday, following ex-Seattle Pro Bowl rusher Marshawn Lynch.

The Seahawks lost on Sunday in upset fashion against the Arizona Cardinals, but more importantly saw both running backs Chris Carson and CJ Prosise go down with season-ending injuries—a potential death knell to Seattle's playoff hopes if they want to run the ball.

Anderson, 28, last played for the Detroit Lions earlier this season in the first two games of the year, and getting sixteen carries before the NFC North franchise released the one-time Pro-Bowler.

An undrafted running back out of the University of California, Berkeley, Anderson started his career with the Broncos in 2013, where he was selected for a Pro Bowl in his sophomore year and helped Denver win Super Bowl 50 in 2015-16. Anderson signed as a free agent in 2018 with the Carolina Panthers, appearing in nine games before being released in November of that year.

Anderson then signed with the Los Angeles Rams, where he saw the last significant number of carries in his seven-year professional career. Contributing to the NFC-winning club in the postseason, Anderson went to another Super Bowl with the Rams and recorded 189 rushing yards on 46 carries for two touchdowns in three playoff games.

Seattle is also looking at ex-Seahawk rusher Robert Turbin, who was released by the team in 2014, later competing for the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, and Dallas Cowboys.
