The Seattle Seahawks will have to bounce back from their lopsided loss to the Los Angeles Rams while being shorthanded on defense. Seattle's defense will be severely hampered on Sunday with Jadeveon Clowney and Shaquill Griffin being inactive, per Adam Schefter relaying some information on Twitter.

Before the season began, Seattle acquired Clowney via trade from the Houston Texans. The former No. 1 pick has made an impact for the Seahawks despite not recording many sacks.

In 12 starts, Clowney has tallied 30 tackles, three sacks, 13 quarterback hits, four forced fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns. Above all, the Pro-Bowl outside linebacker has helped Seattle have the 13th ranked run defense.

His presence will definitely be missed with the Seahawks needing to slow down Christian McCaffrey on Sunday. Clowney has been nursing a core injury throughout the year and could require surgery after the season concludes.

As for Griffin, the Seahawks' starting cornerback sustained a hamstring injury during last week's contest versus the Rams. The injury appears to be serious enough to keep him sidelined for at least one week.

So far this season, Griffin has provided Seattle with 59 tackles, 13 deflections, and one tackle for loss. With Griffin being out, there's a chance that Akeem King or Ryan Neal could see more time at cornerback.

Beside Clowney and Griffin, Seattle will also be without Mychal Kendricks and Ezekiel Ansah against the Carolina Panthers. Given that information, the Seahawks could have a tough time containing the passing attack of the Panthers in Week 15.

It will be up to Russell Wilson and the offense to make up for the injuries on defense.
