Seattle Seahawks kicker Sebastian Janikowski injured himself on a 57-yard field-goal attempt at the end of the first half of the Seahawks' NFC Wild Card Round matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

Janikowski appeared to injure his hamstring, as he came up hobbling and holding the back of his leg after his follow through on the field-goal try, which he missed.

Prior to that, Janikowski had made two field goals.

Known for his massive size and his unbelievably strong leg, Janikowski is one of the most well-known kickers in the history of the game, not to mention one of the most productive.

The 40-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida State University, was originally selected by the Oakland Raiders in the first round (17th pick overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft.

The fact that Janikowski was drafted in the first round as a kicker should tell you all you need to know about just how talented he was coming out of college.

He was the Raiders' kicker for 17 years, making the Pro Bowl in 2011, the same season in which he booted a career-long 63-yard field goal.

After a long, storied run with Oakland, Janikowski missed the 2017 campaign due to back issues and was not re-signed by the Raiders that ensuing offseason.

The Seahawks then proceeded to sign the Poland native to a one-year contract last March.

Seattle went 10-6 this year, earning the first Wild Card spot in the NFC.
