The Seattle Seahawks will be without All-Pro safety Jamal Adams for this weekend's clash against the Miami Dolphins.

Adams picked up a groin injury during a Week 3 win over the Dallas Cowboys, and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the 24-year-old needs more time to recover:

“Jamal is not ready yet. He won’t make it. We’ll miss the heck out of him,” Carroll said, via Brent Stecker of 710 ESPN.

Seattle will also be without rookie linebacker Jordyn Brooks due to a knee injury. However, running back Chris Carson is looking like a go after suffering a knee sprain against the Cowboys.

The Seahawks will indeed miss Adams, a guy who consistently wears multiple hats for the defense.

Jamal Adams dominated through the first two weeks, playing up in the box and seemingly getting into the backfield at will. He recorded a sack in each of the team's first two games, and already has three tackles for a loss and five quarterback hits through the first three games.

Seattle really struggled to generate any pressure on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the second half last weekend, and Prescott subsequently picked the Seahawks secondary apart.

Carroll will have to find a way to mix up looks get to Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick this weekend. Fitzpatrick completed 18 of 20 passes against the Jacksonville Jaguars last Thursday, easily moving the ball against the Jags with a clean pocket.

The Seahawks are still an overwhelming favorite to beat the Jaguars, but they cannot let opposing quarterbacks sit in the pocket and beat them through the air.

It will be tougher to disrupt the backfield without Adams, one of the more notable defensive game-changers in football.
