With the 2018 NFL Draft officially in the books, players can now start to settle in with their new teams. Although every draft is filled with prospects that push the bounds of inspiration, this year's class was headed by the efforts of former South Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin.

Griffin's story has made him an NFL sensation even before taking his first professional snap. This has garnered him a fair share of attention from media outlets throughout the world.

However, Griffin is more focused on getting acquainted with the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport:

New Seahawks LB Shaquem Griffin received an overwhelming number of media requests from all over the world — Chinese media, an Italian TV show, South American’s version of 60 minutes, etc. He’ll turn down almost all of 'em because it’s time to just work toward being an NFL player.

It goes without saying that Griffin's story is as motivational as they come. That is why his decision to focus on the next step of his career should come as no surprise.

Griffin had largely been overlooked throughout his playing career due to only having one hand. However, he has managed to defy the odds each step of the way. Despite a decorated tenure at South Florida, he still had to confirm his status as a legitimate NFL prospect time and time again at the Senior Bowl and Scouting Combine.

Needless to say, it has paid off after he was finally taken by the Seahawks. Even better, he is finally reunited with his brother in Seattle, which likely means it is time to get back to work just like the old days.
