Sporting News came out with their annual list of the 32 best quarterbacks in the NFL ranked and Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson sits fifth on the list. The four quarterbacks in front of Wilson are Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes who is number one on the list.

Wilson is 30 years old and just signed a long-term contract extension but hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. That is a crucial thing because this might be his toughest season yet. With Doug Baldwin retiring because of injury the receiver corps is very young.

Tyler Lockett and David Moore are back, but both are relatively young, but after that, there are a lot of question marks. The rest of the wide receiver spots are wide open, but the hope is that D.K. Metcalf will be the guy who can be the third receiver and have a strong rookie year.

It doesn't seem to matter who is out wide for Wilson; he is going to find guys to throw the ball too and make them better. Last season ten Seahawks players had at least 100 receiving yards, and it will probably be the same type of philosophy this year. Wilson will continue to spray the ball, and it's a big reason why he is one of the best in the league.

The Seahawks finished last season with a 10-6 record and the expectation again this year is that they will be vying for a Super Bowl again this year.
