Seattle Seahawks legend Steve Largent congratulated DK Metcalf after the wide receiver broke the franchise record for receiving yards in a single season, a mark previously held by Largent.

Sporting a Metcalf jersey in a video posted on Twitter, Largent offered his praise of the wideout and expressed his hope that the Seahawks could advance in the playoffs.

Watch the classy move by the all-time great:

Originally setting the mark during the 1985 NFL season, Steve Largent's record of 1,287 receiving yards had stood for over 35 years until DK Metcalf surpassed it on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Having entered the day just six yards short of the record, the Seahawks rising star wasted little time surpassing Largent, setting a new record on his second catch of the afternoon with a four-yard reception in the first quarter.

While Metcalf has risen to the top of the depth chart for the Seahawks, the Pro Bowl wideout was not the only member of Seattle's receiving corp to set a franchise record against the Niners. Joining Metcalf in the record books was teammate Tyler Lockett, who earned his 95th reception of the year, the most catches for any receiver in team history. Though impressive in its own right, Lockett's record had only been set four years ago by Doug Baldwin, who had accrued 94 receptions in 2016.

For what it's worth, with the Seahawks having already guaranteed themselves a division title, the Week 17 matchup is of little consequence. While Metcalf and Seattle will appreciate the franchise records and Largent's congratulations, both would likely prefer another Super Bowl appearance.
