Josh Gordon's stint with the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 did not last very long.

The Seahawks signed the wide receiver back in November after he was waived by the New England Patriots, but Gordon played in just five games with the club before being suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.

That marked the fifth time Gordon had been banned for violating that policy since he entered the league in 2012, so this was hardly Gordon's first run-in with a suspension.

However, Gordon has applied for reinstatement, and according to John Clayton of 710 ESPN Seattle, the Seahawks will try to re-sign him if he is cleared.

During his brief time in Seattle this past season, Gordon logged seven catches for 139 yards. In 11 games between the Patriots and Seahawks overall, he caught 27 passes for 426 yards and a touchdown.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Baylor, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft.

Gordon had an impressive rookie campaign, snaring 50 balls for 805 yards and five scores. The following year, he broke out, hauling in 87 receptions for 1,646 yards while reaching the end zone nine times en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Since then, however, turbulence has defined Gordon's career.

The Houston native played in just five games due to a drug suspension in 2014 and missed all of 2015 and 2016 because of the same issues.

Gordon was reinstated in 2017, but multiple drug bans have limited him to just 28 games over the last three seasons.
