The Seattle Seahawks haven't utilized Marshawn Lynch as much as they would like to but that should change on Sunday. According to Ian Rapoport, Lynch is expected to see an ‘increased role' in the NFC Divisional Round against the Green Bay Packers.

Following last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Pete Carroll shared that he wanted to see more of Lynch in the postseason. It appears that the longtime head coach will hold true to his word versus the Packers.

When the Seahawks brought Lynch back, fans assumed that he'd immediately become the featured running back in the backfield. However, Travis Homer—a sixth-round rookie out of Miami—has actually out-touched the veteran running back in recent weeks.

In last week's contest versus the Eagles, Lynch carried the ball only six times for seven yards and a score. On the other hand, Homer was given the ball 11 times for a grand total of 12 yards. As expected, the Seahawks had trouble getting anything going on the ground against the Eagles' No. 3 ranked run defense.

This week, running the ball should be a bit easier for Seattle. After all, the weather is expected to be below-freezing and perfect conditions for pounding the football.

In addition, Green Bay had the 23rd ranked run defense in the NFL during the regular season. Therefore, the Seahawks should attempt to attack the Packers' weakness on defense by instilling a healthy dose of Lynch.

The Seahawks haven't fared well at Lambeau Field in the Russell Wilson era, losing all three games. But maybe an increased workload for Lynch on Sunday can positively affect the outcome for the Seahawks.
