Sean O'Malley is a hot topic in the MMA world. His career is a strange one and everyone seems to know what's the best way to manage it.

ESPN reported that Sean O'Malley was in talks to fight Raulian Paiva at UFC 269. The reactions following the report were clear- Sean O'Malley should be fighting bigger names.

Twitter erupted and referred to Raulin Paiva as a ‘can.' A term used to describe a fighter as not very good and simply filler on someone's record.

Raulin Paiva is currently ranked #15 in the UFC's bantamweight rankings and is coming off of a win over Kyler Philips. He's on a three-fight win streak with two decisions and one knockout victory.

Sean O'Malley is considered a hot prospect in the division and the UFC currently has him on a slow build-up of the division. He is seen as someone with high potential and many are disappointed he's not fighting people with more name-value or higher up in the division.

Sean O'Malley is currently on a two-fight win streak with a dominant showing over Kris Moutinho in his last outing at UFC 264. The fight saw Moutinho absorb a record number of strikes and the fight was stopped in the third round after the referee felt he had absorbed too many strikes without protecting himself intelligently.

The booking saw Sean O'Malley react surprisingly during a Twitch Live Stream. It's unclear if the bout will exactly go through as no contracts have been signed.

UFC 269 is currently set for December 11 and is expected to have Amanda Nunes defend her belt against Julianna Pena in the main event.
