Jorge Masvidal vs Colby Covington is going to be a great fight between two men that used to be best friends. The main event of UFC 272 is seen as a striker vs wrestler matchup. Sean O'Malley sees the fight as being a lot closer than many are expecting.

Many, including Chael Sonnen, are expecting Colby Covington to go out and beat Jorge Masvidal using his pressure and wrestling. Sean O'Malley isn't so sure that the fight goes down that way.

“Jorge has never really been taken down and just beaten up for 25 minutes, ever in his career,” the UFC bantamweight said on his podcast. But if anyone was going to do it, you’d think it would’ve been Usman, Usman didn’t go out there, take him down and maul him. He did knock him out, but I don’t know. That’s a sick fight. I just get a gut feeling right now, Masvidal could definitely piece up Colby, if he shuts down the striking or shuts down the takedowns. Colby brings an insane pace but Masvidal, that’s gonna be such a sick fight. This is the fight I’m most hyped about out of all the big ones.”

Colby Covington has a game based on excellent cardio, high volume, and high pressure. He makes for a tough matchup for anyone and will be a handful for Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272.

Sean O'Malley is right in that Jorge Masvidal has excellent hands and could very well piece up Colby Covington. UFC 272 in March will reveal who is the best of the two.
