The Seattle Seahawks' Week 7 encounter is expected to be another tough outing as they host the New Orleans Saints at home. Both teams are fielding in new quarterbacks at the moment which is why the Seahawks-Saints matchup will be an exciting tilt for everyone. In this post, we'll be making our Seahawks Week 7 predictions.

With Russell Wilson still out due to a finger injury, backup QB Geno Smith will have to deliver, especially after suffering a tight loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Meanwhile, their opponents led by Jameis Winston are coming off a solid win over the Washington Football Team and will aim to secure another convincing victory, this time in Seattle.

Here are Seahawks Week 7 predictions.

4. The Seahawks' defense steps up against Jameis Winston and the rest of the Saints' offense.

In the 2021 season, it is evident that the Seahawks' defense is still a step slow and has yet to reach its full potential midway through their campaign. The league's highest-paid safety in Jamal Adams has yet to prove that he deserves the huge paycheck as he continues to struggle on the field.

However, with their backs against the wall with a 2-4 record, the Seahawks defense must already find a way to turn things around. All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner is expected to be a major contributor and contribute to limiting Winston who is armed with an excellent pass-protection around him.

Aside from the opposing quarterback, the defense must also keep an eye on RB Alvin Kamara who has been productive this season. With his two-way play, not only is he dealing damage on the ground game but is also serving as a major threat on the receiving attack.

Defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. and his men will definitely have their hands full as they go up against a Saints offense that can quickly put up points on the board. They will definitely have to play at their best if they want to contain their opponents and prevent them from scoring as much as possible come Monday.

3. Backups Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer, and Deejay Dallas will all combine for at least 100 rushing yards.

The Seahawks currently have a shallow depth in the running back position without RB1 Chris Carson who is still on the team's injured reserve list. Another rusher in Alex Collins has been leading the way over the past few games but he is also expected to be out against the Saints due to a groin injury.

His absence will be a huge hit to the running back room as he recently produced 101 yards on 20 carries and a scoring drive against the Steelers last week. Luckily for the Seahawks, Rashaad Penny is already expected to return in time for Week 7 after missing several games due to a calf injury.

Their other backups in Travis Homer and Deejay Dallas are also poised to play bigger roles and shoulder heavier loads on offense against the Saints. Expectations for the rushing trio will surely be tempered but the Seahawks will welcome any contribution that they may get from them, given the RB room's injury situation.

If they manage to get momentum early in the game then it might not be a reach for all of them to combine for at least 100 rushing yards against the Saints.

2. Tyler Lockett will lead the receiving attack for Seattle.

Over the past weeks, WR Tyler Lockett has always been Russell Wilson's most preferred target, especially as a deep threat on the field. However, things slightly changed when their QB1 was sidelined with Geno Smith taking over the playmaking duties for the meantime.

In Week 6 against the Steelers, DK Metcalf led the way with 58 yards on six catches while Lockett was limited to only 35 yards on two receptions. With the former still battling a foot injury and missing a couple of practices over the past week, the latter is expected to be at the forefront and receive more passes against the Saints.

The Seahawks will definitely count on Lockett's contributions to the scoring department as they aim to put up points across the board and keep up against a dangerous Saints offense in Week 7.

1. The Seahawks suffer a narrow loss against the Saints and drop to a 2-5 record.

Certainly enough, the Seahawks haven't been playing at their best with their current 2-4 record being an indicator of more room for improvement. Without Wilson and a few other players, the team will have to exert more effort on both ends of the field in order to finally end their two-game losing streak.

At this point, the Saints are seemingly healthier and more intact as compared to the Seahawks and thus have a better chance of winning their Week 7 matchup. Pete Carroll and his squad will surely put up a fight but it will surely take a lot in order for them to overcome the odds and grab an upset win over the Saints.
