It looks like the Sacramento Kings will have to pay a little bit more money to keep Seth Curry around.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, the point guard will opt out of his contract to become a restricted free agent. Curry was due $1 million for the 2016-17 season, but he held a player option. The Kings have some leverage with Curry due to his status as a restricted free agent.

While the Kings missed the playoffs for the 10th straight year, Stephen Curry's younger brother proved he can be a viable piece in the rotation. Over the last 11 games of the season, the 6'2″ guard averaged 15.2 points on 46.8 percent shooting, including 48.4 percent on three-point attempts.

How much Sacramento will pay Curry also depends on Rajon Rondo, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.  It's also worth noting that Darren Collison is under contract for 2016-17, so if Curry returns, he will likely be the third point guard once again.
