There is barely any real football to watch this time of the year, so let’s talk a little bit about virtual football players for a minute. Namely, players on Madden 19.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, superstar quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are two of the only seven players in Madden 19 to be labeled with a maximum rating of 99.

The video game franchise officially has unveiled its players with overall ratings of 99, and the list includes not one but two quarterbacks: Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

This, however, was not the case in the first ratings reveal of the video game. Initially, Rodgers was the only quarterback to receive a 99, but upon further review, Brady eventually improved from 97 to 99. Even in virtual reality, Brady manages to get his way.

Apart from Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, other players who got 99 are New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. In last year’s edition of the game, only Brady, Donald, and Miller were tagged with a 99 rating.

The game is scheduled to be released on Aug. 10.

The new (and real) NFL season, meanwhile, will kick off on Sept. 6 with a match between the reigning and defending Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons at Lincoln Financial Field.
