Making NBA history, the Golden State Warriors won 73 games last season, beating a record set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, who went 72-10. Yet while both of those of teams are always talked about when the conversation of best team ever comes up, Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal has a different choice.

Unsurprisingly, O'Neal picks a team that he was on as the best ever — the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers that went 15-1 in the postseason to win the championship.

Now after boldly saying best team ever, O'Neal does say “best championship team ever,” so he does add that qualifier, which actually makes his case a bit stronger. That Lakers team went 56-26 in the regular season, which is nothing compared to the 73-win Warriors and 72-win Bulls. But as O'Neal says, the Lakers just dominated in the postseason and likely could've went undefeated throughout if Allen Iverson didn't have a monster Game 1 performance in the Finals.

Also adding to O'Neal's claim is the fact that the Warriors lost in the Finals last season. Because of this, the 2015-2016 Warriors may just be the greatest regular season team of all time. The 95-96 Bulls though, did win a championship so they should have a leg up on O'Neal's Lakers.

But while we can debate which team is the best of all-time until we are blue in the face and our voices grow hoarse, that shouldn't take anything away from the 2001 Lakers' impressive postseason run, a team that was insanely good. Best of all-time though? Probably not but still one of the better teams in NBA history.
