This Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2016 would not be what it is without a shaq-tastic story to tell the crowd.

The evening's liveliest bit was after Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf said Shaquille O'Neal would propose to Sheryl Swoopes before the weekend is over.

Swooped, a three-time WNBA MVP, stood at the podium after Reinsdorf and denied the claims.

“Shaq is not proposing,” Swoopes said. “And I am not accepting.”

But the WNBA legend had something juicier to say in her speech as Shaq had offered a deal too hard to pass up.

Swoopes claimed Shaq said “I'll give you a million dollars if you walk down the red carpet and fall.”

“In front of you guys, the world, my mom, everybody else,” said Swoopes. “But I have to tell you: I thought about it. But then I said, ‘Show me the money', and he didn't show me the money, so I didn't do it. So he's not that nice.”

While Shaq might not have been carrying around a loose million dollars in pocket, he does seem like the type of guy to ridicule you just for the fun of it.

Luckily Swoopes didn't bite, after all you only get inducted to the Hall of Fame one time in your life.
