Shavkat Rakhmonov is a very exciting prospect in the UFC ‘s welterweight division and he's set to face a big test on Saturday. Neil Magny is the man set to determine if Rakhmonov belongs at the top of the division.

Speaking to the media ahead of UFC on Espn 38, Shavkat Rakhmonov made it clear what his expectations are for the upcoming. Anything less than a win is a disappointment for him as he gets ready for a championship run.

“He’s a good opponent, a good test for me,” Rakhmonov said through an interpreter at Wednesday’s UFC on ESPN 38 media day ahead of his fight with Neil Magny (h/t MMAJunkie). “I’m ready to show I’m better than him and I’m ready to show that I’m better than anyone in the division. … I believe I deserve more attention. God willing, I’m the future UFC champion. Time will show it.”

Fighters usually don't love to give a prediction on how they expect to get their raised and Shavkat Rakhmonov is no different in that regard. It doesn't matter how the fight plays out against Neil Magny at UFC on ESPN 38, the welterweight prospect expects to get the job done no matter what.

“My goal is always to get the win,” Rakhmonov said to finish things off at the press conference. “It doesn’t matter how. Just for the judges or referee to raise my hand. Whatever it takes. … I think full distance is not a problem for me. Most important is to get the win. It doesn’t matter how.”
