The Utah Jazz will trot point guard Shelvin Mack in the starting lineup in place of an injured George Hill for Game 2 against the Golden State Warriors tonight, the team announced prior to the game.

Mack is a fast-paced rim-attacking guard that will suit Utah in the drive-and-kick game while also favoring the transition game on offense, constantly pushing the ball upcourt.

Dante Exum will come off the bench and provide a much-needed lengthy presence against veteran point guard Shaun Livingston, who stands at a lanky 6-foot-7.

Hill was a near non-factor in Tuesday's Game 1, tallying only seven points in the outing, his lowest scoring output since March 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Jazz are hopeful Mack's speed will help the team keep up with the up-and-down pace the Warriors drive through the opening minutes of each quarter. Mack played in 55 games for the Jazz this season, averaging 7.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game on 44 percent shooting. He also starting nine games for the Jazz and he upped his averages to averaging 12.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per game on 45 percent shooting.

If they can withstand the offensive pressure and apply some of their own, the Jazz should be able to keep the game within grasp and make runs to eventually take the lead against the best offense in the NBA.

A sore spot for the team will be the loss of Hill's three-point shooting ability, which neither Mack or Exum possess.
