The Philadelphia Eagles and K'Lavon Chaisson know that the 2020 NFL Draft is starting to get really close. With it, the speculation starts to swirl even more than ever before.

Who will be taken where? Which teams will make trades? What players will fall and what players will be reached for?

Who is going to be the big busts and steals of the draft?

For fans of a specific team, they really start to lock on players though. Especially who their team might take in the first round.

With the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles will have a lot of options. And their fans have a lot of reason to be excited.

Should the Eagles take star LSU edge rusher K'Lavon Chaisson with that selection?

There's a pretty simple answer to this with a semi-complicated explanation.

The answer is no, the Eagles should not take Chaisson with that selection. Not that Chaisson isn't a great talent, but because of Philadelphia's needs.

The Eagles should not always go just for the biggest need. Sometimes there's a player on the board that's just that good.

However, the Eagles have a seriously glaring issue at wide receiver. Last season ended with undrafted Greg Ward (a quarterback in College) as one of their top targets.

This is a wide receiver heavy draft. It's absolutely loaded at the position. So you could argue that the Eagles could get a very solid weapon a little later in the draft.

However, the fact that it's loaded means they can get an elite talent at the position with the 21st pick.

For example, a lot of people believe that Justin Jefferson (also out of LSU) will fall to Philadelphia. If that were to happen, there's no reasoning the Eagles could give that would make fans understand why they didn't take Jefferson.

Chaisson is incredible. He racked up 4.5 sacks in his last four games of last season. However, the rest of the season saw him pick up just two sacks in nine games.

And he had only three sacks in 10 games the previous two seasons combined. Why only 10 games? Because Chaisson played in one game in 2018 due to a torn ACL. The Eagles know that.

So while great and holding onto a ton of potential, Chaisson has his red flags. He's been inconsistent in his play and is just one year removed from a very serious knee injury.

Jefferson on the other hand, has played in 28 games in the last two years combined. That included 15 in 2019. A season that saw him rack up 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns on 111 receptions.

That's elite production. And he's got the tools too. Jefferson has amazing athleticism, hands and route running. And what makes all that even more impressive, is Jefferson's 6'3, 192 lb frame.

Philadelphia could use some help in the pass rush. It is far from the need that wide receiver is though. It would be unwise for the Eagles to not take an offensive weapon at 21. No matter how much potential they have as a pass rusher.
