The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Ben Roethlisberger for the season on Sunday and now there may be a potential replacement for him with Eli Manning losing the starting job for the New York Giants. On Tuesday morning, the Giants announced that they would be handing the keys to the franchise to Jones, and suddenly there are questions about where Manning goes from here.

The Steelers need a quarterback and Manning needs a new starting job, so on the surface, it might look like a deal that should get done, but there is no reason that the Steelers should make this trade.

The Steelers currently sit with an 0-2 record and on Sunday they go on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers which isn't an easy game. Even if the Steelers made the trade for Manning on Tuesday, it's hard to imagine he would be ready to go for Sunday's game, so there is a good chance the team could be 0-3 before he steps on the field.

Mason Rudolph is currently the starting quarterback for the Steelers and he looked decent in his first game action of the year, throwing for 112 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

The Steelers will have all week to change the offense up to suit it more for Rudolph's game and the expectation is he could be even better going forward.

There are also some big questions surrounding Big Ben and his future with the team. Next year, will he be healthy enough to come back? Or will he lose a lot of arm strength and never be the same?

The Steelers used the 76th overall pick in the 2018 draft to select Rudolph and maybe he can be the quarterback going forward when Big Ben is gone.

This is a perfect chance to see what the team has long-term in Rudolph and if he will be an option down the road to be the teams starting quarterback for years to come.

For Manning, he also hasn't shown anything to make one believe he could be the missing piece to get a team over the hump. With the Giants, Manning had Saquon Barkley at running back and the offense still had issues moving the ball and that fell on Manning.

In two games, Manning threw for 556 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. That isn't an upgrade over Rudolph and there is no reason the Steelers should trade for him.
