Just when you thought that all teams are locked in for the Last Chance Qualifiers, Sentinels pulls an ace out their sleeve – Shroud.

Sentinels Acquires Shroud just in time for VCT LCQ Roster Lock

In a surprise announcement, Sentinels announced the return of Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek to competitive play, adding him to their Valorant roster as the sixth registered member of their team. Sentinels will then enter the Valorant Champions Tour North America Last Chance Qualifiers with the following roster:

  1. Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan
  2. Hunter “SicK” Mims
  3. Michael “dapr” Gulino
  4. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  5. Eric “Kanpeki” Xu
  6. Michael “shroud” Grzesiek
    c. Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty

This came after Kanpeki was subbed in from the bench for Jared “zombs” Gitlin back in April. Valorant content creator Jake Lucky claims that shroud will be playing with the team for the LCQ.

What's even crazier is that esports reporter George Geddes says that he's been informed that shroud will stay with Sentinels if they win LCQ, which means we might potentially watch shroud play in Champions if the Sentinels get out alive of the Last Chance Qualifier. That's a speedrun to the Champions if there was any, as shroud has not been a prominent part of the NA Valorant pro scene at all. The former CS:GO pro and Twitch streamer played in a couple of qualifiers last year with a rag-tag team of streamers, mostly for fun. This would be the first full return of shroud to competitive, and it looks like he's here to play.

Rumors have floated around recently that Sentinels was looking for a Controller for their lineup, preparing for their upcoming matches in the LCQ ever since the team clinched their spot. It turns out that it's shroud that will be filling in for that role. This clears up the role of Rawkus and will allow him to focus on coaching the team instead of sometimes subbing in to play. Since the team won't be competing in VCT Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen, that means Sentinels has roughly a month to build their chemistry together and strategize around their potential matchups come August.
