LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Golden State Warriors are considered one of the top players in the league today. But a quick look at the statistics reveals that Durant has been outplaying James since Christmas of 2016.

As observed by Redditor u/an1234567890, prior to December 25, 2016, Durant's regular season and playoffs win-loss record against James is at 4-18. Since then, Durant is 11-1 against him.

Broken down, James had defeated Durant 14 times in the regular season and 4 times in the playoffs — particularly in the 2012 NBA Finals when the Miami Heat swept the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fast forward to 2016, in the Christmas day match-up between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Warriors, James and crew came out on top.

After which, Durant has gone on a tear. He has won a total of eight playoff games and three regular-season games against the now-Lakers star. James' only win was in Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals.

The stats reveal how Durant has turned the tables. Not many players have a winning record against James — widely considered the best player of this generation. Just think of the likes of Paul George and DeMar DeRozan, who haven't been able to get past James and his team in the playoffs. Again, is James the greatest player of this generation? Durant wants us to think twice.
