Can Zion Williamson to the Sixers become a reality? Well, with Zion Williamson's continued displeasure and distance from the organization, it seems inevitable that his time with the New Orleans Pelicans could be coming to an end during the 2022 NBA offseason. One team that could greatly benefit from his presence is the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the City of Brotherly Love, Zion would be getting a fresh start and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a contending team. Without further interruption, let's now discuss the two reasons the Sixers must trade for Williamson during the always busy and eventful NBA offseason.

Zion Williamson Sixers trade a must

2. The addition of Zion Williamson would bolster Philly's frontcourt rotation

Outside of Joel Embiid, the 76ers don't have a ton of big man depth and with a physically dominant force of nature like Zion Williamson on their team, this would lessen Embiid's load down low. Williamson would also give them a reliable lob threat and interior scorer that would open things up for their 3-point shooters and allow them to run a more cohesive inside-out style of play.

Between Williamson and Embiid's dominance in the paint and James Harden's ball-handling, shooting, and playmaking abilities, the Sixers would have an unstoppable trio while adding quality depth to their frontcourt rotation. Williamson may have had his limitations due to nagging injuries that have kept him off the court all season, but in Philadelphia he'd be able to start an exciting new chapter and while bolstering their frontline.

1. Joel Embiid would benefit from the addition of another superstar on the Sixers

As the 76ers work tirelessly to maximize the prime of Embiid's playing career, the addition of Williamson would only add to this effort and give him a developing young star to play alongside who's still tapping into his potential. Even though injuries have limited what he's been capable of accomplishing up to this point, there's no denying that his unique skillset would elevate their play on both ends and give them another elite talent to build a contending team with.

Embiid would also form the most lethal big man duo in the league with Williamson as they'd destroy their opponents on the glass and be able to play an endless amount of bully ball with their strength, tenacity, and power. It'd be hard for opposing teams to form a concrete game plan around stopping these two dynamic big men who have continued to expand their games with each season.

Plus giving Embiid a superstar tandem of Williamson and Harden to work with would give him all the help he needs to lead this deep and talented Sixers squad to the promised land. It would also further cement his legacy as one of the greatest centers to ever play the game while he's given the opportunity to compete for NBA championships each season.

With the addition of Zion, Embiid would have the perfect complementary big to play off of and form killer on-court chemistry with while leading this seasoned 76ers squad on a long overdue run to the NBA Finals. Not to mention the superstar trio of Embiid, Harden, and Williamson would be a nightmare cover for any team to handle.
