On Saturday morning, the Philadelphia 76ers and James Michael McAdoo agreed to two-way contract for the 2017-18 season, per Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

Shortly afterward, McAdoo's agency Tandem Sports & Entertainment confirmed the signing.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel spent his first three NBA seasons with the Golden State Warriors after going undrafted. Given the immense talent in front of him with the Dubs, McAdoo didn't see the floor all that much during his tenure with the franchise. In 52 games played last season, he averaged 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in about 9 minutes per contest (via Basketball Reference).

McAdoo hopes to receive more minutes as he moves to Philadelphia, but his two-way contract gives the Sixers the flexibility to send him down to the G-League as they see fit. His energy and ability to slash to the hoop are impressive, but his mid-range jumper is still subpar. A big reason McAdoo went undrafted was his inability to stretch the floor, a necessity for tweeners who aren't quite big enough to protect the rim efficiently.

During his three-year college career at UNC, McAdoo posted averages of 11.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in 25 minutes per game. He received All-ACC second team honors as both a sophomore and a junior.
