Sixers big man Al Horford couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the fight that broke out between Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns during Wednesday night's 117-95 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Horford said via The Athletic. “Those two players are two of our great young players in the league and I’ve known Karl for years. I know his family. He’s a good kid and Joel is a good kid as well. It’s one of those things that you don’t want to see in our game. Our game is a great game. That happened and it was unfortunate. I do hope that they both learn from this. There’s just no place for that in our game.”

As he noted in his statement, Horford has known Towns for quite a while. In fact, Horford has served as a mentor to Towns, and both are natives of the Dominican Republic.

Let's take a look at the scuffle that broke out between Embiid and Towns:

Both players were ejected from the game after a video review. They continued their feud after the game, expressing their thoughts by way of Twitter:

Embiid finished Wednesday night's game with 19 points and five rebounds before being ejected. Towns, on the other hand, had 13 points and six rebounds.

The Sixers will be back in action on Saturday, when they'll travel to Portland for a matchup against the Trail Blazers. Tip-off inside the Moda Center is set for 10:00 p.m. ET, with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
