Sixers big man Al Horford will be available to play in Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, according to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Horford, who joined the Sixers this offseason, has been dealing with a left hand sprain. He noted that it was “very sore” after Saturday's 90-87 victory over the New York Knicks, but it sounds like he's well enough to play in Monday's game.

The fact that Horford's hand is healing is great news for the Sixers, who are currently holding a 28-16 overall record. Many thought he would be held out for Monday's game.

An important player on both ends of the court, Horford has made 40 appearances with the Sixers this season, racking up averages of 12.5 points on 44.8 percent shooting from the field (32.4 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, a block and a steal in 31.0 minutes per outing.

Horford isn't the only member of the Sixers' starting lineup that has dealt with a hand injury this season. Joel Embiid suffered a torn radial collateral ligament in his left hand earlier this month. He has been cleared for non-contact work, but he is awaiting re-evaluation.

Monday's matchup between the Sixers and Nets is scheduled to tip inside the Barclays Center at 3:00 p.m. ET. Philly will be aiming to improve on a three-game winning streak, while Brooklyn will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
