Philadelphia 76ers big man Al Horford is questionable to play in the Sixers' Monday afternoon matinee against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left hand sprain.

Horford seemed to have picked up the injury at some point during Saturday's win over the New York Knicks, which could explain his brutal offensive showing. Horford scored just four points on 2-of-9 shooting as the Sixers barely eked out the victory at Madison Square Garden.

The five-time All-Star has been productive in his debut for Philly, averaging 12.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists through his first 40 appearances. However, his presence in the frontcourt has also made things slightly trickier for the Sixers from an offensive standpoint.

Much like Myles Turner with the Indiana Pacers, Horford is consistently forced out to the perimeter as the Sixers try to carve out space in the paint for Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

He has not capitalized on a larger 3-point outlet, converting on just over 32 percent of his tries (4.3 attempts per game) after making over 36 percent with the Celtics last season. In fact, Horford is shooting below 27 percent from beyond the arc this January, according to Basketball Reference.

Still, Horford has given the Sixers vital frontcourt depth, especially given Embiid's injury. Not to mention, he is still one of the better individual defenders at the center spot.

The Sixers could always look to trade Horford for a package of players, though it is unlikely any team is willing to take on his massive contract.

For now, Philadelphia will hope Al Horford can suit up on Monday against the Nets.
