At 33 years of age, Indiana Pacers enter Al Jefferson is a dinosaur in the NBA. His traditional post-game prowess is a lost art in today's league where shooting and quickness have become the qualities of modern day power forwards and centers.

Once a star center, Jefferson was a fearsome opponent for many NBA teams who couldn't figure out how to contain him around the basket. Now, he is a veteran and mentor for the younger players on the Pacers.

Nonetheless, Jefferson still has respect for today's star big men. On Sunday night, the Pacers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 100-92. Jefferson had some positive comments about Joel Embiid after the game, per Vigilant Sports' Scott Agness.

“It’s a different style but it’s physical. Big fella man (Joel Embiid), I’ve been in the league a long time and I ain’t ever seen a 7-1 guy who can dribble the ball the way he can, shoot the three, and do all the things that he do at his size — and is a great defender. I don’t know what’s in the food these kids eat these days, but it is a different style of play, different style of players.”

Embiid had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists in the loss. This game marked the first time in Embiid's career that he played in back-to-back games. Still, the Sixers star couldn't get the win for his team against the Pacers.

However, it's always special when someone from a previous generation gives props to a younger player with a different playing style. Hopefully, Embiid can continue to change the NBA's perception of centers and power forwards if he goes on with his unbelievable onslaught.
