Well that didn't last long.

After not playing against the Orlando Magic due to swelling in his left elbow, Philadelphia 76ers star point guard Ben Simmons appears ready to play Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to 76ers beat writer Keith Pompey. Not only that, Simmons will also reportedly defend the best player in the world.

Simmons had been ruled questionable against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the past two days, which was sad for Cavs fans who wanted to watch Simmons face off against LeBron James. Now it seems that both 76ers and Cavs fan will have the opportunity to see that happen.

Simmons and James are comparable in size and skill, with both players preferring to make plays for their teammates rather than score. But if needed, both players are capable of throwing up 30 points on any given night.

And Simmons is only a rookie. So far this season in only 17 games, Simmons is averaging 18.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists, according to Basketball Reference. For comparison, James averaged 20.9 points, 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds in his rookie year.

Suffice it to say, not only should the matchup between Simmons and James be tons of fun, it can also reveal just how similar Simmons will eventually be to James. And for James, it's safe to assume he wants to see just how much the rookie measures up to him.
