Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons wasted no time in welcoming Charlotte Hornets rookie point guard LaMelo Ball to the NBA, fooling the youngster with an epic behind-the-back assists to Sixers All-Star teammate Joel Embiid.

Simmons gave Ball a taste of his own medicine on the nifty assist. Although it is typically Ball that maneuvers in impressive fashion, the newcomer will soon need to realize that his skills can indeed be matched–and then some–atop the highest level.

Ben Simmons and the Sixers got off to pretty hot start in 2020-21, as Philadelphia entered Monday’s Eastern Conference clash with a nearly perfect 5-1 record to its credit.

On the other hand, the Hornets were 2-4 heading to the game and trailed the surging Sixers by the score of 58-43 at halftime. While Philly is expected to compete at a high level this season as longtime NBA head coach Doc Rivers is now patrolling the sidelines, Charlotte is still trying to come together as a team with a slew of young players running the show in Buzz City.

Of course, the LaMelo Ball is only playing in his seventh career NBA game as the up-and-coming signal caller no doubt continues to improve early on in his professional tenure.
