Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers make up the first duo in franchise history in almost 60 years to record 16 double-doubles to start off the season. Per Sixer Stats via Elias Sports, Simmons and Embiid have recorded 16 double-doubles in the first 25 games of the season.
In the Sixers' history, the feat of at least 16 double-doubles has only occurred three times, the last one was in the 1959-60 season when Dolph Hayes and Johnny Kerr recorded 17 double-doubles each in the first 25 games of the season.

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid notched the record in their win over the Memphis Grizzlies, 103-95. Simmons had 19 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. While Embiid had 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Sixers have now won four straight games, bringing their record to 17-8. They are considered one of the most promising teams this year. And the duo of Simmons and Embiid has formed a big part of their success.
After the game, Simmons shared his insights, per Jai Bednall of news.com.au:
“I just wanted to stay aggressive the whole game,” Simmons said. “Find my teammates and play my way.”
The Sixers are off to a two-game road trip. First up will be the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday then the Detroit Pistons on Friday. After which, they'll have a three-game homestand before heading to the road once again.
