The Philadelphia 76ers are a team on the rise in the Eastern Conference. The struggling NBA franchise has gone from a perennial bottom-feeder in the East to a team that may be competing for a playoff spot next season with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Markelle Fultz leading the way.
Last season, Philadelphia got a glimpse of things to come with Embiid and Dario Saric showing signs of a promising future for the Sixers. Unfortunately, Ben Simmons, who was the top pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury delaying his debut.
After a season sitting out last year, Simmons is ready to come back with a vengeance with the upcoming 2017-18 campaign around the corner. Simmons took to Instagram to put Sixers fans and the rest of the NBA on notice.

Heading into the upcoming NBA season, the Sixers will be a team to watch in the East. Although no one is dubbing Philadelphia a significant threat to the Cleveland Cavaliers or Boston Celtics, Simmons and company have a talented young squad that could be playoff bound if everything comes together.
The real question in Philadelphia is whether this young roster can stay healthy and live up to expectations. Along with Simmons missing his entire rookie campaign, Embiid missed his first two seasons due to injury and Fultz already suffered an injury during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
If the Sixers can stay healthy, Philadelphia may have a breakout year. Simmons will be more motivated than most next season as he tries to prove that he truly is a player with superstar-caliber talent and the next big thing in the league.
