Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is set to have his new pair of Nike sneakers released tomorrow. Named the Blazer Mid '77 Vintage “Motivation” pair, the new signature shoe of the Sixers stud takes on the form of Converse's all-time favorite Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Simmons recently went on an Instagram Live interview with Slam Magazine, with one of his objectives to promote the upcoming launch of his new kicks. For starters, Simmons admitted that he was a big fan of the Chucks as a kid.

“Growing up, I used to wear a lot of Chuck [Taylors]. It has that kind of look, that dirty feel,” the Sixers star said.

Here's a look at the fresh pair, which hits shelves tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The 23-year-old then went on to explain why his new pair has the words “Pride & Passion” marked on the actual shoe.

“I try to represent my country and my people at the highest level. … I’m very prideful to be Australian,” the Sixers superstar said, via Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I’m big on trying to do the right things and setting the right examples for my country.”

As he described above, Simmons is a bit of a patriot, and this is also why his latest kicks comes in the green and gold colorway — the colors of the Australian Basketball team aka “The Boomers.”

As for Simmons himself, the 6-foot-10 point guard appears to be enjoying life under quarantine. Recently, Simmons made a groundbreaking revelation centered around his new, revolutionary hairstyle. To be fair, Simmons' recently-debuted corn rows do might look good with this new pair of kicks.
