With so much going on this NBA season, one of the loudest storylines before it even began has virtually been forgotten. Ben Simmons is still a member of the Philadelphia 76ers – at least on paper.

While that narrative has become an afterthought to some, it's far from that for the Sixers star's bank account. He's been bleeding money in fines thanks to his no-shows against the Sixers franchise. The total has reportedly just hit a nice, round number.

Via Michael K-B of CBS Sports:

At a glance, $10 million may seem like a relative drop in the bucket for Ben Simmons, who signed a 5-year, $177.2 million extension with the Sixers a couple of years back. But lest we forget a huge chunk of that goes to taxes, while an ever bigger portion has yet to be paid to him given that he's only on Year 2 of said extension.

Add to that the fact that he's probably not very liquid at the moment. The Sixers star surely has a handful of properties, cars, and luxury items on hand as any NBA star would.

Love him, hate him, or absolutely despise him as some Sixers fans probably do, you have to admire his commitment to the holdout. Whether or not it pays off for him down the line or he eventually caves and just burned $10 mil remains to be seen.
