Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons is here for all his haters chiming in after he took home the Rookie of the Year. He edged out Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

The controversy surrounding Simmons is due to the fact that he sat out a full year after being drafted and therefore, a lot of people don't consider him to be a true rookie. He and Donovan Mitchell threw some thinly veiled jabs at one another down the stretch of the season.

But when all is said and done, Simmons is technically a rookie and he took home the prestigious award. It doesn't seem like any of the hate coming his way phases him at all. He's just out here casually responding to low-level Instagram pages that took jabs at him and is actually asking for a shirt.

If the company actually responds to Simmons and sends him a shirt, he will have the perfect opportunity to wear it next season. Whenever the 76ers and the Jazz meet for the first time would be a perfect time. Mitchell was one of the louder critics of Simmons' Rookie of the Year campaign and Simmons wearing this shirt would be a way to stick it back in Mitchell's face.

It would be the equivalent of the American Revolutionaries taking Yankee Doodle Dandy and embracing it rather than letting the Redcoats continue to use it as an insult. Perhaps this is a slight exaggeration of the feud between Simmons and Mitchell.

Fans love to see the pettiness and the rivalries on and off the court. It looks like we are in for a long rivalry between these two exciting young players.
