The Philadelphia 76ers have managed to have a very good season despite all of their young pieces, like Rookie of the Year favorite Ben Simmons. They currently sit at the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference but are in no safe haven as the Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards are breathing down their necks and not far behind.

What's more impressive is the fact that they are within striking distance of the third-placed Cleveland Cavaliers. The slumping Cavs have lost 29 games already, only one shy of the Sixers' total.

Prior to their Wednesday night matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies, which the Sixers won, Simmons told Jessica Camerato of NBC Sports Philadelphia that the team wants to get home-court advantage in the playoffs.

Luckily for the Sixers, they are well on pace toward reaching that goal. Their schedule down the stretch of the season includes games against several teams that are tanking. They may actually have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the entire NBA.

Of course, the Sixers have to find a way to leapfrog all the teams that are ahead of them. But they only need to get to the fourth place in the conference to have home-court advantage in the first round, but the third spot is now within the realm of possibility.

As long as the Sixers win the games they're supposed to win — like Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies — they could achieve that goal without a problem.

If the playoffs started today, the Sixers would play the Pacers.
