Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers heard some boos from Sixers fans when the team wasn't playing up to par.

With that said, Simmons wants to hear boos from the virtual fans down in Orlando, Florida so the guys on the team can be at “home” as much as possible.

“They better put some boos in there for us,” Ben Simmons told Sixers reporters. “Because if we're not playing hard, we want to hear those boos. But you can't put a fan on a screen and … replicate Sixers fans. We're one of a kind. They'll do their best, but there's nothing like playing at home at Wells Fargo (Center).”

The Sixers were booed during the 2019 playoffs as well. When Philadelphia lost Game 1 against the Brooklyn Nets, the Philly crowd booed the team.

Simmons famously told the fans to “stay on that side,” implying that he didn't want the fans to start cheering for them again when the club was playing well.

There's a lot of pressure on the Sixers to play well in the 2020 postseason. Most NBA pundits believe 76ers general manager Elton Brand will trade either Simmons or Joel Embiid and fire head coach Brett Brown if the franchise doesn't go on a deep playoff run.

Prior to the NBA hiatus, Philly was in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 39-26.
