With roughly one month remaining until the start of training camp, several players around the NBA landscape are already preparing for the upcoming grind, including LeBron James and Ben Simmons. Though the two stars play for different teams (Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers), they're actually becoming close friends. In fact, James and Simmons were recently spotted working out on the court together.

Look closely and you'll notice that James is wearing LeBron 16's and Simmons is rocking variants of the Hyperdunk React 2017 from Nike.

A lot of NBA fans have dubbed Ben Simmons as the NBA's “crown prince,” and LeBron James, the King, seems to be fine with that moniker. In fact, LeBron has taken Simmons under his wing, so to speak. And just for the record, this is not their first time working out together.

James sent out a motivational message to Simmons on Instagram back in December.

“Keep going!” LeBron James wrote in his post to Ben Simmons. “Accept nothing less than being great! Anything else is not warranted.”

Simmons made 81 appearances with the Sixers during their 2017-18 regular season campaign, racking up averages of 15.8 points on 54.5 percent shooting from the field, 8.2 assists, 8.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and just under one block (0.9) in 33.7 minutes per outing.

“I'm honored that a young, gifted kid like himself would allow me to be a part of his life, be able to mentor him and be like a big brother,” James said of Simmons in a May interview with NBC Sports. “I'm honored by that, and I will continue to do that as long as he would like me to.”
