Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons is turning into a perennial All-Star, and Brett Brown thinks he is about to expand his game.

The Sixers star has yet to truly develop a jump shot, leading to such a notion rapidly becoming the talk of the town in Philadelphia. As a result, Brown was forced to comment on Simmons' jump shooting this week.

“I think you're going to see more jump shots,” Brown told reporters on Tuesday, via SB Nation. “Maybe the monkey is off his back.”

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, though, as Simmons has been well aware that his jump shooting could use some work.

“If you take [jump shots], [teams] give you a little bit more respect, and you’re able to make more moves and dissect the defense,” Simmons said before the start of this season, via USA TODAY. “This summer, I’ve been working a lot on certain things that I’ll definitely use.”

It is not only jump shots that Simmons was concerned about as the former No. 1 overall pick struggled from the free-throw line as well last season for the Sixers. Simmons shot just 56 percent from the foul line in 2017-18.

“You’ve got to start slowly,” said Simmons over the summer, via USA TODAY. “If it’s adding a free throw that gets up to 80 percent, that’s about five more points right there. If you add little things and keep adding over time, that’s how you become great.”

The Sixers have continued to shine under the direction of Simmons — and others — with Philadelphia notably going all in this season.
