Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Ben Simmons has taken the league by storm since the start of the 2017-18 NBA season. His rare combination of size and skill have already made him one of the most dynamic players in the league.

That said, he does have one glaring weakness that head coach Brett Brown is looking to address. According to Christopher A. Vito of Digital First Media, Brown indicated that he would like Simmons to take more shots from the perimeter:

Monday in Chicago, Brown hinted that Ben Simmons slowly would be incorporating more jumpshots into his game. Monday came and went, without Simmons attempting a shot from outside the restricted area. Simmons made good on Brown’s promise Tuesday, knocking down consecutive jumpers in the first quarter

As dominant a player Ben Simmons is, his inability to shoot from nearly everywhere outside the key can be traced back to his days at LSU. As a result, teams have made it a point to essentially play within the perimeter on defense. Furthermore, the Sixers' youngster still has yet to hit his first career 3-pointer after taking just nine attempts from beyond the arc through 29 games.

Regardless, Ben Simmons has managed to get along just fine without having to take many jumpers thanks to his explosive playmaking ability. That said, getting a head start on adding another potential element to his already loaded offensive repertoire certainly would not hurt.
